ARCTIC CHARR IN SCOTLAND
This book was printed digitally, so I used pure cyan as a suitably aquatic accent colour. This avoided halftoning in areas of solid colour, giving the appearance of higher quality lithographic print without extra cost. The striking background image on the dust jacket shows how the skin of the fish appears during the breeding season. As the bright red contrasts so powerfully with the cyan, this colour combination made for a particularly attention grabbing cover.
The book's contents were divided into two main sections - an introduction, with information about distribution and ecology, and a database containing all known records of arctic charr in Scottish lochs by hydrometric area. Photography was used throughout both sections, both to illustrate locations and break up the mass of information.
